Elyria, Ohio — Bowling Green added a talented offensive lineman on Thursday in the form of Isaiah Byler. The Elyria High School product verbally committed to the Falcons, according to a report in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"BG saw me at the Ohio State cam, talked to me after the camp and invited me up for (an unofficial) visit. I visited and liked it there, but they recommended I come back for another visit with my parents," Byler told the Plain Dealer. "I did, BG offered me a scholarship and I accepted."

Byler, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound guard, was also offered scholarships from Marshall and Eastern Michigan, according to ScoutingOhio.com. However, what separated Bowling Green from the pack was senior defensive back P.J. Mahone, who played his high school ball at Elyria.

"P.J. was a running back/ wide receiver/ safety at Elyria," Byler told the Plain Dealer. "He is playing football at BG and likes it there. I'm not saying that talking to P.J. was the deciding factor, but it didn't hurt."

Byler gave a verbal commitment to Bowling Green.
