ESPN.com is reporting that the Northern Illinois junior guard will declare for the NBA Draft, but won't hire an agent.

"I don't see why you wouldn't do it," Silas told ESPN. "Although they have made it ridiculously impossible for underclassmen with these new rules, I think I should try it and see what happens and go from there."

Silas averaged 19.7 points and 5.3 rebounds for an NIU team that went 10-20 this past season. The Huskies had a 4-0 start to conference play, before falling off and finishing the year 6-10. Northern Illinois went out in the fist round of the MAC Tournament, losing 65-59 to Eastern Michigan.

Under NCAA rules, Silas has until May 8 to withdraw from the draft and retain his NCAA eligibility.
