DETROIT — Last season, the Miami RedHawks came within a few agonizing minutes of winning an NCAA title before it was snatched away by Boston University.
One year later, the RedHawks found themselves back in the Frozen Four against another Boston team, this time the Eagles of Boston College. Once again though, a victory wasn't to be.
The Miami offense struggled against BC and its normally tight defense gave way to seven goals. The result was a forgettable 7-1 loss at Ford Field.

Connor Knapp and the RedHawks crashed out of the Frozen Four.
Connor Knapp got the start for Miami but was pulled early in the second period after giving up three goals on nine shots. Cody Reichard came in and had a higher save percentage (76 percent), but he still allowed four more goals to sneak in.
The RedHawks came into the third period trailing 3-0 but got some brief life on Joe Hartman's seventh goal of the year. Trailing by two, Miami thought it could fight back. However, between the 10:10 mark and the 11:45 mark of the final frame, Boston College scored three times, making the game 6-1 and securing its place in the final.
Miami ends the year with a 29-8-7 record and having spent most of the season ranked No.1 in the polls. The RedHawks are also the 25th team to make the Frozen Four in consecutive seasons.
