KALAMAZOO - Western Michigan has been known as a cutting edge design school in the Mid-American Conference for years. The uniforms get fairly frequent face lifts and the apparel tends to stay trendy.
One thing that has been mostly the same for WMU though is its football helmet. The Broncos came out with a special helmet for the Toledo game last season, but other than that, it’s been relatively unchanged for a decade. A “W” was thrown on the side, but that’s about it.
Western Michigan unveiled a completely new look on Friday, going from its classic look to a new design, featuring a Bronco on one side and the player’s number on the other. Here are some shots of the new helmet.
